  • No, the Castel de Daval is entirely non-smoking. Smoking is prohibited in the rooms as well as in the common areas. This measure allows all our guests to enjoy clean and pleasant air. Outdoor spaces are available, however, if you wish to smoke outside the building.

  • No, in order to preserve the peace and tranquility of the place, private parties such as stag/hen parties are not permitted. The estate is primarily intended for wine tourism stays and more formal events (see next question). Thank you for respecting this rule for the well-being of all guests. Quiet hours are from 10 pm.

  • Yes, we host weddings, seminars, and other corporate events. The castle can be reserved exclusively for your receptions. Inside, the castle can accommodate up to 20 people, and the outdoor space up to 150. However, if you are holding your event outdoors, we recommend having a backup plan in case of bad weather. We can work with you to arrange wine tastings or special meals (in collaboration with our partners) for your group.

  • For your information, the maximum capacity is approximately 20 people inside the castle and 150 people outdoors. This allows us to host both small, intimate gatherings and larger events. Of course, we adapt the facilities (tables, chairs, sound equipment, etc.) according to the number of guests you expect.

  • Yes, the Daval Hill area is known for its wine tourism. You can taste our wines at the Daval Castle itself, in our new tasting room in Sierre, or at the Caveau la Vouettaz in St-Pierre-de-Clages (see next question). In Sierre, we offer various tasting packages (see below).

  • Tastings are primarily held in two locations. Firstly, in Sierre, at our dedicated space called "Espace Daval" at the foot of Daval Castle. This modern venue can accommodate up to 35 people and showcases all our wines and estate products. Secondly, we have Caveau La Vouettaz in Saint-Pierre-de-Clages, a renowned and authentic Valaisan wine cellar. Run by Monique's sister, Ariane, it can accommodate up to 70 people. Traditional dishes such as raclette and brisolée (a type of beef stew) are served there in the autumn. Please note that tastings are no longer held at Daval Castle.

  • We offer several "tasting + light meal" packages in our new Daval space (in Sierre) – prices are given as a guide only:

    • Aperitif: 5 wines of your choice – 15 CHF per person (or 28 CHF with a charcuterie/cheese appetizer platter)

    • Terroir: 5 wines + Valais cheese and potato platter – CHF 34

    • Gourmet: 5 wines + Valaisan dish (full plate) – 38 CHF (supplement +6 CHF for coffee and dessert with wine)

These packages may vary depending on the season and availability. For any special requests (wedding receptions, group bookings, etc.), we are happy to assist you.

  • Caveau La Vouettaz is a quintessential Valaisan establishment. It offers light meals showcasing local Valaisan products. For example, you can enjoy raclette in winter and brisolée (roasted chestnuts) in autumn. Brisolée is served every Friday and Saturday evening, as well as Sunday lunchtimes during the autumn season. The atmosphere is rustic and convivial, perfectly complementing the wine tourism experience.
